本文从国家、社区、房子三个层面解读莫里森的新作《家》，讨论小说家对20世纪50年代美国黑人生存空间现实性和可能性的想象：国家层面上的种族歧视造成黑人“无立足之地”的处境，黑人社区保持种族文化，可以成为黑人创伤的“痊愈之地”，而“房子”作为黑人“栖身之地”需要有爱和良好的家庭关系，才能成为真正的“家”。本文认为《家》在黑人生存状态特别是黑人家庭的呈现上不同于莫里森过去九部小说的做法，表现出一种积极向上的乐观基调。

This paper conducts a critical reading of Toni Morrison＇s new novel Home from the perspective of the country, community, and house, and discusses the novelist＇s imagination of the reality and possibilities of the living space for African-Ameri- cans in the 1950s： The racial discrimination makes African-Americans feel ＂homeless＂ at their own homeland; the black community upholding black culture is able to heel the trau- ma of African-Americans; and houses in which African-Americans reside are not necessa- rily ＂home＂ for many of them if there are not love and good family relations. [t is argued that Home is different from Morrison＇s previous nine novels in its presentation of African- Americans＇ existence and in particular of their families, and conveys a hopeful, positive and optimistic tone.
