在屠格涅夫的全部艺术修养中，绘画是最早进入其视野的艺术门类之一。他既拥有高超的鉴赏眼光，又具备不俗的绘画能力，这一切对其文学创作产生了积极的影响。在充满抒情与哲理意蕴的《散文诗》中，一方面，屠格涅夫写作惯有的细微简洁却形象准确、意境深远等特点吻合了绘画的精髓要义；另一方面，他将透视法、光色线条、肖像素描等绘画手段，得心应手地运用于写景状物或人物刻画之中，使其变成仿佛可视、可触、可感的具体画面。《散文诗》因此取得诗中有画且内涵丰富的动人效果，赢得了一代又一代人的喜爱。

In I. S. Turgenev＇s artistic knowledge, painting is one of the first types of art that comes to his view. He has a good taste for art and possesses a remarkable capability of painting, which positively influence his literary works. In Turgenev＇s lyrical and philosophical poems in prose, on one hand, every detail is fine in a subtle way as usual, and his writing style is concise but with far-reaching, vivid and precise artistic conception. All these features well fit into the essence of paintings. On the other hand, he adopts many painting methods like perspective illustration, shaping of light and color, lines, and realistic painting with facility into his writing to depict scenery or portray characters. Thus, all the pictures are visible, touchable and can be sensed. The attractive artistic effects are gained accordingly and his poems in prose win the affection of generations.
