《噫嘻》这首诗的写作年代应看作是康王时代，诗中的“成王”是先王。其中的“私”应是耜，不是指私田。诗是写周天子以宗子身份祭祀先王的情形。

Yi Xi should be written at the time of Emperor Kang. Emperor Cheng mentioned in the poem should be the former king. Si （私, privacy） in it should be Si （耜, a kind of farm tool used to turn the soil） but not refers to the private field. Y/Xi describes the situation that Zhou Tian would warship the former king as his eldest son.
