忙人秉性不足，以取物于身心为安。所取压迫、主导身心而致累。忙人在世，一方面自己找累，另一方面互相拖累、连累，其结果是人人不免乎累，人们注定受苦受累，累成为当代人普遍的命运。取物而背负物，物重而致人累。物重乃人使之重，重物轻己人故累。累由聚物于心，物重人轻而起；不累则反之，散物而使物轻人重，物不移人，自然轻松。自重而轻人则己不累而人累，自重而轻物则人不累而物累。人累、物累则己终不免乎累，自重而重人，自重而重物，物我、人我各不相累。
