德性伦理学旨在回答理想人和理想生活的问题，它们与社会的理想状态存在着复杂的互动关系。和谐作为社会的理想状态，不仅强调人与自然、人与社会、自我与他人及自身的和谐，同时也指明了实现和谐理想的途径，即通过存在差异的事物相反相成地互动，使所有事物成就自身、各得其所。实现社会和谐的过程中，公民要有自主的德性，同时努力使自己的整体德性在此过程中逐渐养成。为此，公民应当明确生活的意义，持续省察自己的人生。

Virtue ethics aims at studying the questions between ideal people and ideal life which have a complicated relationship with the ideal state of society. Harmony, as the ideal state of society, not only emphasizes the harmony between human and nature, human and society, ego and others, but also points out the approach to realize harmony, namely, interaction of different things. In the process of realizing harmonious society, citizens should have self-virtue and cultivate their integral virtue gradually. There- fore, citizens should know the meaning of life and examine their life.
