罗斯小说《解放了的朱克曼》中人物之间存在独特的隐喻关系。小说中,演艺界女明星希萨拉和曾经参加电视节目问答秀的犹太人阿尔文都与朱克曼之间存在着互为隐射的对应关系,是朱克曼的文化影子和生存映射：希萨拉是纳森作为文化名人的＂自我＂隐喻,而阿尔文则是纳森犹太自我的隐喻。就此角度而言,整个文本就是一出＂与影共舞＂的隐喻游戏。
라사소설《해방료적주극만》중인물지간존재독특적은유관계。소설중,연예계녀명성희살랍화증경삼가전시절목문답수적유태인아이문도여주극만지간존재착호위은사적대응관계,시주극만적문화영자화생존영사：희살랍시납삼작위문화명인적＂자아＂은유,이아이문칙시납삼유태자아적은유。취차각도이언,정개문본취시일출＂여영공무＂적은유유희。
In Philip Roth’s Zuckerman Unbound （1981）,there exist unique metaphorical relationships between different protagonists. Besides the focal figure Zuckerman, there are two mysterious figures： Caesara O’Shea the famous actress and Alvin Pepler the Jewish who was ever a TV Quiz Show Star. Culturally speaking, Caesara acts in the text as one of Zuckerman’s alter ego of being a celebrity, and Alvin as Nathan’s cultural alter ego of being a Jew. In this sense, the whole text might as well be regarded as a metaphoric game of the writer-protagonist’s alter egos.
