多元文化教育给我国高等教育改革带来了机遇和挑战。自20世纪60年代起在美国社会有着极大影响的多元文化教育思想,为我国高校构建多元一体化教育模式提供了基本的理论依据。基于这一思想,我国高校构建多元一体化教育模式,应考虑兼容多元,坚持主体;重视通识,强化专业;全面发展,因材施教;重视过程,灵活考核;注重实践,提倡创新。

Multiple intelligence and multicultural education bring both opportunities and challenges to the reform of higher education in China. The multiple intelligence theory put forward by Howard Gardner in 1980s lays the basic theoretic foundation for building multiple integrated educational modes under the multi-cultural perspective for higher education. According to this theory, to reach this goal we should take multi-element into account and adhere to the main goal; value general and professional knowledge; develop all-round way and teach students according to their aptitude; emphasize on teaching process and flexibly assess achievement; and focus on practice and advocate innova- tion.
