我国出生性别比长期失调，引发了未来将有多少“光棍”的争论。通过对婚姻挤压的多角度分析，可得结论：“光棍”的定义易引起混淆；婚配性别比失调导致的适婚男性过剩不能同“光棍”划等号，对统计数字容易出现认识偏差；适婚男性过剩的原因，是以性别比为基础、综合了社会经济因素的结果；在贫困地区出现“光棍村”的现象，是大范围内婚姻挤压层层传递的结果。
