开漳圣王文化研究开始于二十世纪八十年代初。三十年来，研究者们对开漳圣王陈元光入闽开漳治漳、陈元光的籍贯身世及其《龙湖集》真伪、开漳圣王信仰等问题进行了广泛探讨，取得较丰硕的戍果。但研究中还存在不足与欠缺．应加强开漳圣王文化内涵、开发应用及其他诸如历史遗迹、故事、传说、陈元光部将僚属等的研究。
개장골왕문화연구개시우이십세기팔십년대초。삼십년래，연구자문대개장골왕진원광입민개장치장、진원광적적관신세급기《룡호집》진위、개장골왕신앙등문제진행료엄범탐토，취득교봉석적수과。단연구중환존재불족여흠결．응가강개장골왕문화내함、개발응용급기타제여역사유적、고사、전설、진원광부장료속등적연구。
The studies of Cheng Yuanguang （Zhangzhou Holy King） started in the early 1980s and for over 30 years great academic achievements have been made, on his coming to and his governance of Zhangzhou, his birthplace and life experience, the verification of Longhu Compilations and the belief of Zhangzhou Holy King, etc. However, there is still space for improvement in the study of the connotation, development and application of the Zhangzhou Holy King Culture and in the research of historic relics, stories, legends and his generals and soldiers.
