水溃遗迹是近年来隋唐大运河通济渠段最新发现之一,对于今天的运河申遗工作具有十分重要的研究价值和学术意义。水溃遗迹位于古代中原地区著名湖泊———圃田泽范围之内。圃田泽是隋唐大运河郑州—开封段用于调节水量的天然水柜。水溃遗迹对于研究隋唐大运河通济渠（即汴河）河道有较为重要的价值,该遗迹的发现证明唐宋汴河河道应在其北20华里左右,而水溃遗迹东侧的古河道应为明清贾鲁河故道。
水潰遺跡是近年來隋唐大運河通濟渠段最新髮現之一,對于今天的運河申遺工作具有十分重要的研究價值和學術意義。水潰遺跡位于古代中原地區著名湖泊———圃田澤範圍之內。圃田澤是隋唐大運河鄭州—開封段用于調節水量的天然水櫃。水潰遺跡對于研究隋唐大運河通濟渠（即汴河）河道有較為重要的價值,該遺跡的髮現證明唐宋汴河河道應在其北20華裏左右,而水潰遺跡東側的古河道應為明清賈魯河故道。

The dam breaking relics, which are of great significance both to study in application for the World Heritage and to academic study, rank among the most recent discoveries on the Tongji Ditch of the Great Canal. The relics are located around the Putian Pond, a well-known lake in what was known as central China in ancient times. The Putian Pond served as a natural reservoir in the Zhengzhou-Kaifeng part of the Great Canal in times of the Sui and Tang Dynasties, so the discovery of the dam breaking relics is of important value to study of the Tongji river-way of the Great Canal. The discovery proves that the Bianhe river-way was actually located some 20 li north of the present river-way while the old river-way east of the relics was the waterway of the Jialu River in times of the Minz and Oinz Dynasties.
