我国古代书院“博学”、“审问”、“慎思”、“明辨”和“笃行”的治学理念，对推进基础教育改革，培养创新型人才具有重要的现实意义。我国当前的基础教育改革可以借鉴古代书院广博深厚的课程设置，着眼于培养学生宽厚的知识基础和深厚的文化底蕴；教师要培养学生敢于质疑和辩论的精神和勇气，为学生多提供“审问”的机会并创设“研讨辩论”的宽松氛围，注重挖掘他们的创新潜能，使其做到“读书穷理”与“躬行践履”相结合，为创新型人才的健康成长打下坚实的人文和科学素养。

The ancient academies in China hold such academic ideas as ＂studying extensively, enquiring accurately, reflecting carefully, discriminating clearly, practising earnestly＂, which have important practical significance to promote the reform of basic education and cultivate innovative talents. China＇s current reform of basic education can learn from the ancient academies about their extensive and profound curricula, focusing on cultivating students＂ broad knowledge base and rich cultural deposits. Teachers should cultivate students to develop the spirit and courage of daring to question and debate, provide students more opportunities to enquire accurately and create the relaxed atmosphere of the seminar debate, focusing on mining their creative potentials, to make them achieve the combination of ＂reading to probe into the truth＂ and ＂practising personally what they preach＂ and to lay a solid humanities and sciences literacy for the healthy growth of innovative talents.
