本文通过对“国际传播”和“全球传播”两个概念的使用进行历史追溯，认为“国际传播”从出现时就指代了意义广泛的传播现象和过程，其研究路径和范式并非固定不变，而是随社会历史情境变化。“全球传播”往往被视为全球化下“国际传播”的新阶段或新形态。但鉴于“国际传播”概念本身的强解释力度，以及当今传播环境中国界仍发挥作用，国家间传播差异和不平等的持续加深，多元化认同的普遍存在，本文认为“国际传播”概念并不过时，不可被“全球传播”取代。

This paper studies the concepts of＂international communication＂ and ＂global commumcation＂ trom the historic perspective, and claims that since the emergence of ＂international communication＂, it has been used in a broad sense and its research approach and paradigm has been evolved with the changes of social contexts. For most international communication scholars, ＂global communication＂ can be taken as the new phase or form of＂international communication＂ against the backdrop of globalization. However, due to the explanatory strength of ＂international communication＂ as well as the national boundary still plays a role in communication process nowadays, this paper argues that the concept of ＂international communication＂ is still applicable and cannot be replaced by ＂global communication＂.
