玄奘的＂五不翻＂源自经年累月的翻译实践,虽非新论,但依然生机勃勃。＂新疆生产建设兵团＂英译名不统一,其中出处相对权威的英译名＂Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps（XPCC）＂易造成误读,不利于外宣、外贸、对外交流与合作等工作。该文以唐代玄奘＂五不翻＂为理据,探讨了＂新疆生产建设兵团＂以及与此相关的单位机构、名词术语等的翻译问题。

Xuanzang＇s theory of ＂Five Transliterations＂, evolved from long time practice, is still applicable to today＇s translation. There are different English versions for＂Xinjiang Shengchanjianshe Bingtuan＂, and the seemingly authoritative one,＂Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps （XPCC）＂Ieads unfor- tunately to misunderstanding,weakening the Bingtuan~s foreign publicity, trade as well as communica- tion and cooperation. Guided with Xuanzang＇s theory, this paper discusses the terminological translation such as ＂Xinjiang Shengchanjianshe Bingtuan＂,and related terms.
