《荆棘鸟》是20世纪70年代末澳大利亚女作家考林·麦卡洛的传世之作。小说以梅吉为主线,描写了克利里家族三代女性在父权制社会下寻找爱情自主的过程中遇到的各种矛盾与冲突,揭示了女性的自我意识在父权制社会中的觉醒与崛起。同时,小说展示了女性与大自然的紧密联系,女性和自然有相似的命运——处于受压迫的地位,而自然又是女性的避难所和精神家园。笔者试图从生态女性主义的视角出发,运用荆棘鸟这个意象来解读生活在父权制社会中的女性自我意识的觉醒过程并从该小说中领悟出了人与自然的共处生存原则：只有尊重自然,与自然和谐共处,建立互惠互补的理想两性关系,社会才会出现一幅健康和谐的画面。

At the end of 1970 the Thorn Birds written by Australian writer Colleen Mccullough, is one of the classical masterpieces in the world. This novel describes three generation of women of the Cleary family in the patriarchal society encountering with all kinds of contradictions and conflicts, which reveals the feminism＇s awareness of self-consciousness around the heroine Meggie in the story. The novel also an- alyzes the close relationship between nature and female, which has similar fate： they are in the oppressed situation. At the same time it shows that nature is the women＇s refuge and spiritual home. The paper tries to use the imagery of the thorn birds to analyze feminism＇s awareness of self-consciousness in the patriar- chal society from the perspectives of eco-feminism. And the principle of coexistence of man and nature was revealed in the novel： man only respects for nature, and is in harmony with nature, and sets out to estab- lish an ideal male-female relationship based on social equality, then there will appear a healthy and harmo- nious picture in the society.
