Taking salvage project as an example, this paper introduces the technology of using trenchless horizontal directional drilling by which passing lifting wires through the wreck. In the process of wreck salvage, it is a very important link that lifting wires pass the bottom of wreck. In the application, the technology of using directional drilling by which lifting wires passing the wreck is highly accurate and effective, and meets the requirements of salvage project. The introduction of this technology shortens the time of pulling lifting wire around the bottom of wreck and locates accurately, resulting in reducing the work of divers. The technology is of great significance for increasing efficiency of salvage project and impro- ving salvage technology.
