哲学家冯友兰同时也是一位教育家。他客观地看到了在现代化(工业化、产业化)背景下教育的集中性、批量性和分工性,看到了现代化的教育与传统教育的不同,肯定了在现代化的教育中不能也不必对教师有太高的道德上的要求。他的教育为学术服务、教育独立、为学术而学术、教授治校等思想对于克服中国教育中长期存在的"左"的做法,对于教育去行政化具有重要的启示意义。虽然这些思想曾经遭到批判,但是,它们经受了历史的考验。

The philosopher Fung Yu-lan is also an educationist.He observed that against the background of modernization(industrialization),modern education has undergone the process of concentration,mass production and division.He held that modern education has different function from the traditional one.Therefore,teachers should not be judged by too high a moral standard.Fung argues that education should serve the purpose of academic research,and that education should be independent and academic work should be autonomous.Fung also insists that professors should play the key roles in universities.Though once criticized,these insightful ideas of Fung’s are highly relevant especially when we want to correct the deviation of the far Left and to make a change in the educational system that weighs too heavily on bureaucracy.
