在阐明优秀博士生候选人应当具有的素质基础上，借助信号理论分析“入学考试制”功能失范的原因及“入学申请制”的适切性，并就当下博士生招考方式的改革提出相关建议。

An analysis based on the signal theory is presented about the shortcomings of the doctoral entrance examination system and the suitability of the application system. Suggestions are also offered on the reform in the recruitment of doctoral students.
