By examining 50 textbooks on teaching theories in Chinese modern times, we find that they mainly discuss five basic categories, teaching condition, teaching objectives, teaching contents, teaching methods and teaching assessment. Analyzing the connotations of those categories contributes not only to composing the present textbooks on teaching theories, but also improving teachers' teaching wisdom.
