本文以Talmy的运动事件理论为依据,采用实证方法对英语运动事件动词与短语进行认知表征体验的对比分析。研究发现,在开放语类替换为包含封闭语类的动词短语后,运动事件中英语动词和动词短语的认知表征体验存在明显差别,且该差别具有一定程度的普遍性;其概念成分也会发生不同程度的变化。其中,图形和背景概念根据是否凸显可能会发生变化,运动概念发生变化,路径概念总体趋于发生变化。路径概念包含的矢量特征发生变化,构型概念根据是否凸显可能发生变化,指示概念不发生变化。矢量概念包含的三个概念成分中,“起点”保持不变,“途中”根据替换后路径概念的偏离程度可能发生变化,“终点”发生变化。研究结论支持Talmy(2000a)的理论假设,并对其结论进行了必要的扩展和延伸。

Based on the motion event theory of Talmy and through empirical methodology, this paper has made a contrast be- tween English closed-class and open-class semantics. It is tentatively concluded that there exists a certain degree of universali- ty in the cognitive recognition of the graphic schemata. After the open-class semantics was replaced by the closed-class seman- tics, there is some change concerning the conceptual components within the motion event frame, in which the concept of Figure and Ground changs according to their salience degree; the concept of Motion changs; the concept of Path tends to change. Within the conceptual components of Path, Vector changs ; Conformation changs according to whether it is salient ; Deictic doesn ' t change. Within the sub-concepts of Vector, Departure remains what it was ; Traversal is likely to change according to the deviation degree; Arrival changs. The research result supports the theoretical hypothesis of Talmy (2000a) and provides certain extension for that.
