狂欢一词在我国汗牛充栋的典籍中并不常见，但这并不意味着狂欢的缺失。稍加识别便可发现许多虽不以狂欢名之却深具狂欢精神的文献记录。本文通过对古代各种风俗史料的勾稽，勾勒出中国人狂欢生活的轮廓：它是以节庆为主要依托，主要发生在庙观、街市等地，欢会中民众聚集，肆意饮食、纵情享乐，歌舞喧哗、百戏竞集，其重心从以“神、祀”为主，逐渐倾向于“艺”，百戏、戏曲演剧等更成为承载民众狂欢情绪的主要载体。中国民众的狂欢生活也是全民参与，颠覆常规，富于狂欢精神的。

It was rare to read ＂carnival＂ in Chinese ancient works, but it did not mean that there was no car- nival then. Reading through different ancient works, the author of this dissertation was amazed to find many litera- ture and documents with actual carnival spirit. This dissertation aims at drawing out a rough sketch of Chinese folk ＇s carnival life from the ancient literature and documents. He considered that the carnival was based on colorful fes- tivals happening in temples, markets, and etc. People gathered together to celebrate the festivals by enjoying deli- cious food, pleasant music, splendid dance, gorgeous acrobatics, etc. , with the change from focusing on ＂God ＆ sacrifice＂ to ＂art＂ gradually. Acrobatics, Chinese traditional operas and some other arts became the important car- riers of people＇s carnival mood. According to the records, Chinese people showed active involvement and carnival spirit in their carnival lives.
