甘肃洮州方言属于北方方言中的西北次方言区，属中原官话，但其中又兼具江淮方言、吴方言的特点。洮州方言是生活在甘南藏族自治州的临潭、卓尼两县以及迭部、夏河、碌曲等县的部分地区汉族所使用的语言，也是各民族相互交际的主要工具。本文从江淮移民、历史行政区划、语言接触等方面对洮州方言形成的原因进行了考究分析。

Taozhou dialect of Gansu is a north-west sub-dialect of northern dialect, belonging to official dialect of central China, with some features of Jianghuai dialect and Wu dialect. Taozhou dialect is spoken by Han nationality inhabited in Lintan county and Zhuoni county of Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, and some area of Diebu, Xiahe, and Luqu counties. It is also a main communication tool of multiple nationalities. From the aspects of the immigrants in Jianghuai, administrational divisions in history and language contact, the article probes into the causes of the formation of Taozhou dialect.
