马来西亚华人谢诗坚先生的《中国革命文学影响下的马华左翼文学》是第一部从“中国革命文学的影响”的角度来研究马华文学的著作。在深入分析中国文学与马华文学相互关系的基础上，该书厘清了马华文学现实主义传统的缘起，并系统梳理出了马华左翼文学从萌芽到形成、发展以及衰退的历史脉络，相关研究填补了以往研究的空白，在马华文学研究史上具有开拓性意义。该书的特点在于视角独特，材料丰富，研究系统深人，立论有据，观点新颖，对马华文学的研究具有重要的参考价值，对海外其他区域的华人文学研究也有一定的参考意义。
