大量文献记载表明，除梓潼的地方神信仰外，古代的天文历算学亦是道教文昌信仰产生和发展的重要背景。宋元之际，文昌神与梓潼地方神合流后，逐渐衍变为主管科举、文运、官禄之神，文昌信仰中的天文（自然）因素，亦渐渐向人文回归，文昌星神遂成为中国文化的守护神文昌帝君；而相应地，梓潼神亦被赋予了天文内涵，神学位阶得到极大的提升。文昌信仰反映了道教独特的神学形态：信仰依赖于科学实证传统，信仰不以神而是以文（人文）为中心——这正是文昌信仰独特的人文价值。
대량문헌기재표명，제재동적지방신신앙외，고대적천문력산학역시도교문창신앙산생화발전적중요배경。송원지제，문창신여재동지방신합류후，축점연변위주관과거、문운、관록지신，문창신앙중적천문（자연）인소，역점점향인문회귀，문창성신수성위중국문화적수호신문창제군；이상응지，재동신역피부여료천문내함，신학위계득도겁대적제승。문창신앙반영료도교독특적신학형태：신앙의뢰우과학실증전통，신앙불이신이시이문（인문）위중심——저정시문창신앙독특적인문개치。
A large number of literature shows that, in addition to the local belief of Zitong, ancient mathematics of astronomy calendar is also an important background of the emergence and development of Daoist Belief in Wen- chang. During the Song and Yuan Dynasties, Wenchang converged with the local god of Zitong, and gradually trans- formed into a god in charge of imperial examination, destiny of culture and official position. So, the astronomical （natural） factors in Wenehang belief gradually returned to humanity. Then Wenchang star God became the patron of Chinese culture：Lord Wenchang. Correspondingly, Divine Lord of Zitong was also endowed with the astronomical meaning, with a larg promotion in gods＇ order. The belief in Wenchang reflects a special Daoist theology：faith de- pends on scientific positivism, and don＇t centered in god but wen （culture） ,which shows a unique value.
