胡适在研究中国逻辑思想时提出了训诂考证的方法、历史分析的方法、“借鉴西史”的方法、实验主义方法等，对近代中国逻辑思想（包括因明）研究的发展起到了重要的推动作用，其方法论对于后人研究中国逻辑思想影响深远。胡适的方法论对于中国逻辑史的积极作用表现在：胡适逻辑体系范式的提出，打破了梁启超以来中西逻辑简单比较的方法，用西方的逻辑体系来解析构造中国的逻辑思想体系，从而使之成为一个完整的系统；胡适的治学方法对后来的学者研究中国逻辑史提供了工具和借鉴作用。但是，胡适的研究方法还是存在一定的缺陷：他用西方哲学史的架构解析中国哲学史，必然会或多或少带有西方的痕迹；胡适提出治史原则以后并没有完全遵从这些规则。

Hu Shi has played an important role in promoting the methodology of Chinese logic thinking with his far - reaching influence for future generations since he raised various methods in the study of Chinese logical thinking, such as the textual criticism, the historical analysis, the approach of ＂learning the West＂, and the experimental method which is posi- tive in the history of China logic as following ： First, Hu Shi made his logical system paradigm as a complete system with the Western logic to construct China logic ideology which broke the Sino -Western simple comparison logic approach from Li- ang Qichao; Secondly, Hu Shi provided tools and reference of scholarly approach to subsequent scholars to study the history of Chinese logic. At the same time, There were some shortcomings of Hu Shi＇ s methodology as following： First, Hu Shi＇ s method was with more or less bound to the West traces ; Secondly, Hu Shi didn＇ t fully comply with the principles after he proposed these rules.
