白玉蟾留存1000多首诗词作品，在历代高道中，是工于诗词创作的道士之一。这些诗词作品，大致来说，一部分为阐释丹道理论的道教诗歌，一部分是典型的“文人”作品，二者共同奠定了白玉蟾在道教史和文学史上的地位。白玉蟾的道教诗词源自道教自身的“歌诗传统”，而其“文人”作品，与白玉蟾弃儒从道经历和潜藏的士人心态有直接关系。研究白玉蟾的诗词作品，应从白玉蟾的身世出发，历史、多维地看待。

We still have a big collection of Bai Yuchan＇ s poetry works, and the amount is about more than 1000. Generally speaking, Bai Yuchan is one past master of poetry writing among the Taoists in the long histry. These poetry works could be divided into two types ： one is Taoist poem about the theory of internal alchemy （ nei-tan）, another is typical literati works,which both settled Bai Yuchan＇ s position in the Taoist history and the lit- erary history. In fact, Bai Yuchang Taoist poetry works came from the Song and poetry tradition of Taoism, how-ever, the literati works have a direct relationship with the experience of getting over to Taoism from Confucianism and the potential psychology of the scholar-bureaucrat. Our study of Bai Yuchan＇ s poetry should historically and multi-dimensionally carry from the angle of the story of Bai Yuchan.
