中西方在宗教信仰方面存在明显的差异。祖先崇拜是中国民间信仰的主要形式，上帝崇拜是西方基督教信仰的基本特征。作为中西方两大文明形态中的信仰核心，它们的产生和发展都有深刻的历史文化根源：祖先崇拜孕育于中国文化，上帝崇拜基于基督信仰。它们都有自身的典型特征：祖先崇拜本质上是对人的崇拜，而上帝崇拜是对神的崇拜。这两种崇拜分别对中西方文化产生了深远影响。
중서방재종교신앙방면존재명현적차이。조선숭배시중국민간신앙적주요형식，상제숭배시서방기독교신앙적기본특정。작위중서방량대문명형태중적신앙핵심，타문적산생화발전도유심각적역사문화근원：조선숭배잉육우중국문화，상제숭배기우기독신앙。타문도유자신적전형특정：조선숭배본질상시대인적숭배，이상제숭배시대신적숭배。저량충숭배분별대중서방문화산생료심원영향。
There exist obvious dissimilarities in religion between China and the West. Ancestor-worship is the main religious form among Chinese people while God-worship is the basic feature of Christianity in the West. As the core of the faiths in Chinese and western civilizations, they originated and developed in their closely-connected cultures. Ancestor-worship is gestated in Chinese culture; however, God-worship is based on Christian faith. Both of them obtain their own typical features. In essence, ancestor- worship is a kind of worship towards human while and God-worship is one to god. They respectively exert far-reaching influences on Chinese and western cultures.
