本文以“文革”后中国文学出版社推出的女作家作品英译合集为研究对象，从宏观的历史文化角度对这一政府文化宣传机构主导的译介行为予以考察和研究，包括其编辑原则、翻译特点及其对中国形象的塑造等，同时运用性别研究的全新视角对这一翻译项目予以阐发。该项目的特点在于以女作家为身份特色，但又将最能凸显女性本体意识，代表女作家创作新潮流的女性主义创作摒弃在外，在选材上强调社会主题的现实主义作品，这些女作家在一定程度上与男作家无差别地担当了反映中国社会现状的任务。通过英译合集，中国文学出版社对外呈现了一个走出“文革”阴霾，秉承传统文化价值观，市井化、生活化的多元中国形象。

This paper examines the anthologized English translation of Chinese women writers by Chinese Literature Press （CLP）, an officially-led project with its unique principles, features and representations of the image of China from both traditional historic-cultural and innovative gender perspectives. Gender-marked as it＇ s claimed, the project excludes feminist novels highlighting female consciousness and epitomizing latest trends for women writing and gives privileges to realistic fictions reflecting Chinese society. In this sense, there was not much difference between CLP＇ s choice of female and male writers. A manifold and close-to-life image of China is represented as it gradually shakes off the shadow of the Cultural Revolution and holds onto traditional values.
