知识创新是一种动态的、连续性的双循环过程。在知识44新过程中，个人或组织将自身积累的显性知识和隐性知识共同应用于知识创新的全过程，所产生的包含显性知识和隐性知识的新知识成为个人或组织新的知识积累，并将共同参与下一次知识创新活动，形成显性知识和隐性知识双循环的知识创新模式。在知识创新双循环的同时，知识积累与创新能力又呈现层级结构。一般情况下，知识积累与创新能力成正比，知识积累越多，所处的知识创新层级越高，知识创新能力就越强。依据Nonaka的知识创新螺旋上升理论及知识创新双循环、知识积累与创新能力的层级结构，设定了知识创新的空间构成维度，构建了知识创新双循环层级结构模型。
