2009年7月1日,中国军旅画家集结于上海刘海粟美术馆,举办了“‘红色记忆’艺术邀请展”,以庆祝中华人民共和国60周年纪念日的到来。中国军旅画家以表现中华人民共和国缔造、建设与转型之历史的红色经典,彰显了这个族群所特有的集体记忆与视觉想象。军旅画家的集体记忆因他们所遭遇的历史与命定的信仰而被定义为红色记忆,红色记忆作为通贯于中国现当代历史的认识型,必然沉淀为推动他们从事视觉艺术行动的政治无意识。在弗雷德里克·詹姆逊的理论构成中,政治无意识是一种文本力量,视觉艺术则是由画语构成的文本形式,而军旅画家的红色经典即是由政治无意识所推动与形塑的视觉文本,因此在红色经典的视觉想象中,必然彰显着他们以红色政治无意识对历史进行叙事化与文本化所选择的价值立场。在世纪之交全球资本化的历史断裂期西方后现代文化思潮及其当代艺术对中国军旅画家有着潜在的渗透性影响,从而他们在美学风格上认同了操用另类的画语表现形式给予红色记忆以变形的出场,以表征他们对政治无意识与红色经典的亲民化与大众化的形式反讽,也因此铸成了他们当代艺术家的身份及后一红色经典的形成。

Abstract: On July 1, 2009, more than thirty painters who came from the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA), hold an "Art Exhibition for Red Memory" to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. At the exhibition, the PLA painters represented the creation, development and transformation of the PRC by showing their paintings that manifested the special style and visual images of this collective memory. Their paintings are called Red Classics. The collective memory of these PLA painters also defines "Red Memory" on the basis of the beliefs that are strongly held by them. "Red memory" gradually precipitates a type of political unconsciousness by which PLA painters are pushed forward to develop their visual art. The "red" political unconsciousness in "Red Memory" depending on the power of the visual text pushes history forward into being texts to produce paintings that become a series of visual narratives on revolution. In the 21st century, global capitalization brings about historical fracture, as a fashionable but critical trend from the West. Postmodernism with its contemporary art is also paid close attention to in PEA painters, who approve the aesthetic style of postmodernism to represent "Red Memory." Red classic paintings that fall into deformation because of irony are named "Post-red Classics," and thus the identity of some of the PEA painters turn into that of a contemporary artist.
