在众多的国际法律竞赛中，Williem C．Vis模拟国际商事仲裁辩论赛是规模最大的国际法赛事，它也是一项以教学为实质、以竞赛为包装的法学教育活动。它能够提升参赛学生的庭辩技巧、外语水平和团体合作能力。学生能够在文书写作中提高分析问题和解决问题的能力。通过对国际商事仲裁庭的模拟训练，学生能够将国际法尤其是国际贸易法、国际商事仲裁法、国际惯例、外国的案例法以及中国的法律和案例结合运用。该项赛事有利于深化中国学生运用英语研究国际性法律问题的意识，培养具有理论素养和实践能力的国际法律人才。

Among numerous international legal competitions, Williem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitra- tion Moot is the largest international event. The moot is also a legal teaching program that combines teaching and competition. Through the moot, students can improve their advocacy, English and team work, and they can enhance their abilities to analyze and resolve issues. Through the moot training, students can learn more knowl- edge of international law, especially international trade law, international commercial arbitration, international practices, foreign case laws, Chinese laws and cases. The moot will be useful for students to increase the con- sciousness that uses English to conduct legal research in China. The program is helpful to educate international legal talents who possess theoretical attainment and highly practical ability.
