跨文化交际称呼语的研究不应该局限在不同语言使用者刻板的文化差异的比较和描述上，相反研究关注点应该是交际的双方（无论是持不同语言者，还是同种语言者）如何在动态的交际过程中协商和构建相互的身份，并且如何在这样动态的过程中产生他者化，同时，对于这个社会通过媒体、专业或日常话语再现的偏见、刻板印象、预设、他者化、文化本质主义等保持敏感和深刻的认识。

The research on addressing forms in the field of intercultural communication should not only be confined to comparison and description of differences of cultures; instead, focus should be shifted onto how the interlocutors （of different languages or of the same language） create and negotiate their identities in the communicative dynamics,how they are otherizing or being otherized during this process, and being cautious and perceptive to the way that prejudice, stereotype, preoccupation, otherization and cuhurism are represented through mass media, professional and daily discourses.
