越南峒娄侬族的生活中有三种姓名。第一种是在婴儿时期获得的名字,取名时较为随意;第二种是在进入儿童期后获得的名字,必须遵循家族的字牌;第三种是在成年结婚时获得的名字,夫妇采用相同的名字。三种不同的名字也有着不同的禁忌与限制。第一种和第二种名字在日常生活中被普遍地使用,而第三种名字则是在家族祭祀时或者个体死亡后面对祖先时使用。三种不同名字的制度安排体现了越南峒娄侬族的灵魂观念、历史记忆与自我建构。在对取名制度的传承和创造的过程中。峒娄侬族实现了地方社会的再生产。

There are three names for each individual of the Nong people in the Donglou Village of Vietnam. The first name, which is relatively random, is given when one is in infancy; the second name is given when one grows into his childhood and this name should be in accordance with the requirements of the family tree; when one is an adult and gets married, he is given the third name, which will be shared by the couple. The three names are featured by different ta- boos and restrictions. The first and the second name are commonly used in daily life while the third name is only used on the occasion of family sacrifice ceremonies and funerals. This naming system embodies the conception of soul, historical memory and self-identification of the Nong people in the Donglou Village of Vietnam. The reproduction of local society is thus realized during the course of inheriting and creating the naming system.
