This paper attempts to establish an index system for evaluating ecological suitability of construction land in low-slope regions, using spatial analysis in GIS, analytic hierarchy process and entropy weight method. The results show that the ecological suitability of the construction land could be categorized into high suitability, middle suitability, basic suitability, unsuitability and permanent unsuitability, each respectively occupying an area of 65.92 km2 , 127.72 km2 , 119.60 km2 , 54.87 km2 and 9.21 km2. Furthermore,86.88 percent of the low-slope hilly region is located in incremental construction land. It is concluded that from the ecological point of view, the index system is very reasonable, and the evaluation results have a strong practicability. Furthermore, the research can provide a certain scientific basis for hilly slope region exploitation.
