朱熹《孟子集注》并非照着孟子讲，而系对孟子思想的诠释、发挥，贯穿着朱熹在心性观上的心学立场和心学表述，是一极具朱学特色的“心学”文献。牟宗三先生认为《孟子集注》是以告子、荀子理在心外，以认知心向外穷理解孟子“尽心知性”等心性思想，实是对朱熹的误解、曲解。
硃熹《孟子集註》併非照著孟子講，而繫對孟子思想的詮釋、髮揮，貫穿著硃熹在心性觀上的心學立場和心學錶述，是一極具硃學特色的“心學”文獻。牟宗三先生認為《孟子集註》是以告子、荀子理在心外，以認知心嚮外窮理解孟子“儘心知性”等心性思想，實是對硃熹的誤解、麯解。

Zhu Xi didn＇ t just repeat Mencius＇ s instructions in The Collection of Notes to Meng Zi, but inter- preted and developed his theory. He expressed his position in the view of the mind and stated his understanding of philosophy of the mind throughout the work, a classic of Zhu＇ s philosophy of the mind. Mr. Mou Zongsan thinks The Collection of Notes to Meng Zi apparently followed Gao Zi and Xun Zi＇ s theory but essentially stated his thor- ough understanding of Mencius＇ s philosophy. This is a misunderstanding and distortion of Zhu Xi＇ s thought.
