本文立足于甘肃天水地区与伏羲女娲信仰相关的神话和灵验传说，力图对口头艺术文体之间的相互关系展开深入探讨。文章认为：口头艺术作为表达、维系和强化民间信仰的重要手段，其诸种文体之间在功能和具体语境应用方面存在着协作与互动的关系。就其功能而言，神话是证实和确立相关信仰最初合法性的基础，而此后，灵验传说则在信仰中扮演着更为重要的作用，它不仅继续强化着神灵信仰的合法性，而且将遥远的人类始祖或英雄转化为人们身边灵验的地方神灵，从而使之能够更好地佑护现实生活。从应用来看，不同文体的应用往往对应着不同的具体语境，在某个特定场合必然会出现某一特定的文体，其间有着相对稳定的规律。总之，神话和灵验传说之间存在着彼此互动的关系之网，这种关系，既具有维护民间信仰系统的完整的作用，又能够发挥促使信仰传承和延续的功能。

Abstract：Based upon the author＇s latest investigation on myth and belief-legend related to Fuxi and Nuwa beliefs in Tianshui, Gansu Province, this paper scrutinizes the relationship among various genres of verbal art, the critical devices in expressing, stressing, and maintaining folk beliefs. A tentative conclusion is as the following： Among different genres of verbal art, there are negotiation and dynamic interaction concerning their functions and per- forming contexts. As for the function, although myth establishes the legitimacy and the foundation of a specific be- lief, belief-legends play more important role in maintaining that belief and worship. It not only helps to strengthen the legitimacy of the belief, but also transforms the remote or ancient mythical ancestry and heroes into local gods to protect people in everyday life. And for the context of performing, a certain genre definitely and regularly ac- cords and emerges from a certain context. It is more regular than skin-deep disorder. In a word, there is a negoti- ation and interaction between myth and belief-legends, which not only promises the integration of related belief, but also supports and reinforces the continuity of that belief and worship.
