五四新文化运动中国是近代文化自觉历程中的一个高潮，它是不平等的世界交往过程中一次转被动为主动、由封闭到开放的自觉的文化转型运动。五四文学作为新文化运动的一部分，是中国社会现代化追求的一个重要领域。它立足于民族，与世界先进文化保持广泛的联系并与之进行有效的对话，具有鲜明的文化自觉特质，这主要表现为清晰明确的启蒙思路、见善思齐的文化态度、勇于担当的文化情怀等。充分认识这一特质，对我们今天的世界文化交往和中国特色社会主义文化建设具有重要的启示意义。

The＂ 5.4＂ New Cultural Movement is a climax in the course of Chinese cultural consciousness from morden China. It is a kind of cultural transformation in the unequal world contact from passive to active, from closed to open. As a part of the New Cultural Movement, the ＂5.4 Literature＂ is an important field of morden chase in Chinese society. It is based on nation and keeps a wide connection with world advanced culture and even makes an effective dialogue with it. It has distinct features of cultural consciousness in the following areas： clear and specific enlightenment strategy; the cultural attitude of advocating virtues; the cultural feelings of shouldering responsibilities. It has an important meaning for us to recognize these features completely in today＇ s world cultual connection and the construction of socialist culture with Chinese characteristics.
