根据中国现实背景和农村留守妇女特点，在对可持续生计分析框架进行解释和说明的基础上，按照“脆弱性环境→生计资本→结构和过程转变→生计策略→生计结果”的研究主线对目前已有关于中国农村留守妇女的研究进行了梳理、总结和评析，并指出未来研究中需要进一步关注的方向。

To develop an understanding of the life and the characteristics of women who left behind in the cotmtryside in China, this paper illustrates the usage of sustainable livelihood analysis. It first reviews the existing research on the ＇left-behind women＇ in rural China in accordance with a process of analysis viewing them from as being ＂vulnerable and as livelihood assets, through structures and process transformation, to them possessing livelihood strategies and producing livelihood outcomes.＂ It then points out further issues with rural left-behind womeffs sustainable livelihoods for research in the future.
