科恩的否定原理是他的归纳概率逻辑体系区别于数学概率逻辑体系的重要标志.它的实质是,如果假说H基于证据E得到了大于零级的支持,那么基于同样的证据就不能对它进行否定,同时基于同样证据的其他假说相对于H不具有竞争地位.但它在理论内部和应用上都存在一定的局限,其根源在于科恩采取了过强的否定策略,弱化这种强否定可在一定程度上修正否定原理的局限.
科恩的否定原理是他的歸納概率邏輯體繫區彆于數學概率邏輯體繫的重要標誌.它的實質是,如果假說H基于證據E得到瞭大于零級的支持,那麽基于同樣的證據就不能對它進行否定,同時基于同樣證據的其他假說相對于H不具有競爭地位.但它在理論內部和應用上都存在一定的跼限,其根源在于科恩採取瞭過彊的否定策略,弱化這種彊否定可在一定程度上脩正否定原理的跼限.

The negation principle of J . Cohen' s theory is the most important to distinguish between mathematical probability logic and non-pascalian probability logic. The essence of it is if the hypothe- sis H based on evidence E is greater than zero level supported, then other hypotheses based on the same evidence could not deny H, and also other hypotheses based on the same evidence have not competitive position to H. But it certainly has limitations in theory and application. The root lies in that Cohen takes a strong negation strategy. Weakening the strong negation can revise the negation principle limitations.
