靺鞨是6世纪中叶至10世纪初活跃在东北亚地区的一个古代部族,与古代中国和朝鲜半岛国家有着密切的互动与交往.但是,朝鲜半岛的第一部正史《三国史记》中有关“靺鞨”的记载,早于中国史书600年,引发了学界对“靺鞨”理解上的混乱,值得探讨.从历史地理方位以及相关记事来看,《三国史记》所载“靺鞨”并不是对某一民族的专指,而是对不同时期、不同部族的泛指.

＂Mohe＂ was an ancient tribe living in Northeast Asia from the middle of the 6th century to the early of the 10th century. It connected closely to the central plain areas of China and countries on Korean Peninsular. However, the record of ＂Mohe＂ in the first official history of Korean Peninsular, History of the the Three Kingdoms is 600 years early than that of in Chinese history. This has confused the understanding of ＂Mohe＂ among the academic circles. According to the geographical position in history and the relative records, ＂Mohe＂ in History of the Three Kingdoms refers to different tribes in different times instead of one specific ethnic group.
