笔者通过回顾从20世纪90年代中期到当下的近20年时间中有关女性文学与性别研究的学术历程，描述了以文学批评、文学史研究、思想史研究、文化研究等不同方式进入性别问题讨论的具体路径。在反思个人研究经验的基础上，强调性别研究的关键在于揭示“个人的”如何呈现为“政治的”的这一批判过程，进而结合现代中国的女性解放运动历史实践，重点讨论了马克思主义与女性主义的关系和性／社会性别制度这两个关键理论问题。

This essay, through a brief review of the academic development of women＇ s literature and gender studies from the mid - 1990s through the present, tries to describe the many different approaches in the studies of gender problems, ap- proaches like literary criticism, literary history studies, studies of thought history, and cultural studies. By reflecting upon my own experience in the research, this essay shows that the key in gender studies lies in revealing the critical process in which the ＂personal＂ becomes ＂political. ＂ By incorporating the practice of modem Chinese women＇ s liberation movement into the study, this essay then focuses on its exploration in the relations between Marxism and Feminism and the relations between gender and social gender institution.
