学界对“吃食堂”的成立机制已进行了大量研究,而对“吃勺园七号楼餐厅”、“吃前门的全聚德”之类表达能否成立的研究尚少。本文将用认知语法理论说明此类表达式的合理性。本文先探索了“吃食堂”的细化结构如“吃学校食堂”的生成原因,然后通过推导这些结构里名词所指范围的变化,得出“吃食堂”里可以有实例概念,进而生成如“吃勺园七号楼餐厅”的例示结构。识解上,细化结构可通过增加基础结构里名词详细度生成,而例示结构可通过将焦点聚集在实例概念上生成。识解提供了生成这些细化和例示结构认知上的可能性,表达精细化是它们生成的语用动因。

Much research has been done on the like chi shitang(吃食堂), yet little has been done generative mechanism of constructions on whether expressions like chi Qian- men de Quanjude( 吃前门的全聚德)and chi Shaoyuan Qihaolou Canting (吃勺园七号楼餐厅) are legitimate or not in modern Chinese. This paper, taking the cognitive grammar ap- proach, argues that these expressions are indeed legitimate. To reach the conclusion, this paper first studies the generative mechanism of elaborative expressions like chi xuexiao shitang(吃学校食堂). Then, by exploring the change in the referent range of the nouns in these constructions, the paper finds that instance conception can appear in chi shitang, producing such instantiative constructions as chi Shaoyuan Qihaolou Canting. In constru- al, elaborative constructions can be generated by increasing specificity of nouns in basic constructions, and instantiative constructions by changing focus from type to instance. While construal can provide the cognitive possibility to generate these instantiative and e laborative expressions, it is the pragmatic motivation of elaboration that facilitates their generation.
