Tracing the laughter of Alexander the Great in India through Roman d'Alexandre, describe and analyze in detail the cultural connotation and philosophical significance of "the laughter of rhetoric". The laughter of Alexander in India reflects his power of observation and the insight into the future world. His laughter is a demonstration of wisdom and force, which is also full of irony. Montaigne, a humanist from Europe, liked to cite the stories of Alexander" laughter. For him, laughter is a serious matter that registers the free will and force of the spirit. Laughter is not only the echo of a comic or pleasant situation, but also a moral posture. Simply and courageously, laughter presents the full picture of thinking image and the reverence for human life, particularly illness and death. Montaigne's laughter brings him to be in agreement with himself in the twilight of his life and to master the personal anxiety of his own life and death. In the cases of Alexander or Montaigne, laughter is a sensory and moral expression, a symbol of life of tension and a kind of rhetorical form. Laughter allows the non -coincidence of the self with the self, enables them to conceive life, arouse life, and reveal vigorousness and tension of life.
