This paper introduces the methods and characteristics of China＇ s 8th forest resources inventory, the inventory and data changes are analyzed. The national forest area of 208 million hm2, forest coverage rate of 21.63%, The total forestry accumulation amounts to 16.433 billion m3. The national forest vegetation total biomass of 17.002 billion t, total carbon 8.427 billion t; Years of 580.7 billion m3 of water conservation, solid soil quantity is 8.191 biUion t, fertilizer consumption of 430 million t, absorb pollutants quantity is 38 million t, dust volume of 5.845 billion t. Analysis shows that ~chieve forest growth in 2020 was ~ difficult task, keeping ecological rec~ line pressure; Strengthening the forest management for very urgent.
