城市，是社会群体生活场所，是有机整体结构体系。有机整体性，是其基本特征。在“大美临沧”的审美创构目标之下，临沧城市设计建造就应该支持和成就“大美临沧”的整体设计建构和发展。由于临沧地区自然生态环境的规定，地理状况是多山地、少平坝，城镇多半分布于山间狭长平川或平缓坡地。城市建设必须从当地的地质形态实际出发，依从地势而又有所改造。这样的城市审美设计，应充分利用地形优势，加上审美理想的特色设计，使之显示独具一格的特色景观。在此基础上进一步营造文明高尚的社会人文气象，就能将城市整体发展水平提高到现代文明高境界。

City is the living place of social groups, and a structural system which takes organic whole as its basic characteristic. In terms of the design and building of Lincang city, it should support and fit in the overall development goal of the city. Due to the specific natural and ecological environment of Lincang area and the geographical condition with more mountains and less plain land, the cities and towns of Lincang area are mostly distributed in long and narrow plain lands or on gentle slopes between the mountains. The design and building of Lincang city should base on its geological form, with certain proper improvements. In aes- thetic aspect, Lincang should make full use of its terrain advantage to make featured design, so that the specific landscape of the city can be displayed. What＇ s more, we should further create a noble and civilized humanity atmosphere in the city. With the above proposals achieved, the overall development level of Lincang city will be enhanced greatly.
