Lumin, a novelist born in the 1970s, painstakingly constructed a three-dimensional narrative structure in her novel Dinner of Six. She made smart use of time-dimension to bring out the existential philoso-phy of average people in their daily lives. Her relentless effort in and persistent pursuit of literary creativity in novel writing is best embodied in this novel, which tells about the destiny of and emotional entanglement be- tween two single-parent families in twenty years. A careful study of Lumin＇ s novels shows that she spares no effort in novel writing both in the deepening of subject matter and in the enrichment of narrative techniques, of which tell that her novels is attaining mature.
