越南砍蔗女工通过民间中介或亲戚、熟人介绍跨界进入桂西南从事季节性的砍蔗工作，劳动报酬低于本地劳工，她们在与蔗农们的共同生活、劳动和交往互动中强化了文化认同。越南砍蔗女工的跨国流动，经济需求互补是外因，族群文化认同带来的安全感是内因。认为跨界民族基于文化纽带的民间开放共赢策略是中国东盟新型国际关系构建不可忽视的重要内容。

The Vietnamese women labourers, introduced by their relatives, acquaintances or even agents, cross the border and immigrate to the west of Guangxi to engage in the seasonal job of sugarcane cutting. Their pay is less than the local labourers. Their cultural identity is enhanced when they live, work and communicate with the sugarcane peasants. The transnational migration of these Vietnamese women labourers of sugarcane cutting results from both the external motivation of economic needs and the internal motivation of a sense of security caused by the cultural identity of groups. This paper holds that the strategy of folk opening-up and mutual benefits which is based on the cultural links among people across the border should not be neglected in establishing a new China- ASEAN international relationship.
