the Sino--British Board of Directors for the management of Gengzi Reparations Huang-ehuan Middle SchoolQinghai Wang Wenjun
民国时期,“管理中英庚款董事会”用英国退赔庚款在青海创建“管理中英庚款董事会湟川中学”;时任“管理中英庚款董事会”董事长的朱家骅,亲点湖北黄冈留德博士王文俊前来青海建校;学校第一次系统引入国际新式教育理念,其教学与各项活动在青海教育界起到了示范性“模板”作用;湟川中学的建立成为青海教育史上一件标志性文化事件,深远地影响了青海社会近代化进程;王文俊、顾颉刚、朱家骅等人为此建功卓著。学术界对这一问题的研究尚属空白,本文首次依据档案材料及创建者回忆文章作一初步探析。

In the period of the Republic of China, the Sino--British Board of Directors for the manage- ment of Gengzi Reparations, in Qinghai, set up Huangchuan Middle School affiliated the Board of Direc- tors with this compensation. The Director Zhu Jiahua himself selected Dr. Wang Wenjun as founder, who came from Huanggang, Hubei, and once studied in Germany for his doctor degree. This school first intro- duced some international education ideas, and its teaching and other activities played a demonstrative role in the education sector of Qinghai. As a landmark of Qinghai cultural event, the establishment of Huang- chuan Middle School, had a profound influence in the course of Qinghai social modernization. Among which, Wang Wenjun, Gu Jiegang, Zhu Jiahua et al. gave a valuable contribution for that. Little attention in this field is paid by the academic. For the first time, this paper, makes a preliminary analysis about this issue on the basis of archival materials and the memories of founders.
