Yang Kui kept a youthful spirit in his cultural psychology throughout his life. He spent his formative years in a free environment which contributed much to his personality. When studying in Japan, he was greatly influenced by his teacher＇s enthusiasm for literary youth and developed an awareness of independent identity. He experienced the upsurge of youth culture and youth movement in Japan and broadened his communication with other young people. Back to Taiwan, Yang Kui had gained new confidence in his action and practice but the suicide of a Japanese left - wing youth deeply affected his life and had a far-reaching impact on his cultural psychology.
