李峤与苏瓌为武后、中宗朝重臣，“苏瓌有子，李峤无儿”之说，见于各种杂史笔记，有三种不同说法：中宗召二子问“所通书”，苏頲之应答颇令中宗满意；苏頲为其父苏瓌守制，坚不起复；同在朝为相，李峤子不及瓌子颧有才能。根据两《唐书》、李峤长子李畅《墓志》等史料，对此三说逐一详加考证后可知，同在武后中宗朝官居要职，峤子不及瓌子颈有才能之说，当为三说之中最为合理的解释。
리교여소괴위무후、중종조중신，“소괴유자，리교무인”지설，견우각충잡사필기，유삼충불동설법：중종소이자문“소통서”，소정지응답파령중종만의；소정위기부소괴수제，견불기복；동재조위상，리교자불급괴자권유재능。근거량《당서》、리교장자리창《묘지》등사료，대차삼설축일상가고증후가지，동재무후중종조관거요직，교자불급괴자경유재능지설，당위삼설지중최위합리적해석。
Li Qiao and Su Gui are important minerals of Wuhou Zhongzong Danasty. The saying ＂Su Gui has a son, while Li Qiao doesn＇t＂ can be seen in various historical records and notes. There are three kinds of explanation about this up to now. Zhongzong summoned his two kids and asked ＂what books have you read＂. The reply of Su Ting satisfied Zhongzong. Su Ting observed mourning for his father and refused to be an official. Although they both were chancellors, the son of Li Qiao was less capable than the son of Li Gui. A lot of researches to the three kinds of saying are done one by one with the help of ＂Tang Shu＂ and ＂Mu Zhi＂ written by Li Chang, the eldest son of Li Gui. The most reasonable explanation of the three is the son of Li Qiao less capable than the son of Su Ting.
