Zhang Wei, a winner of Mao Dun Literary Prize in recent years, is a writer with strong humanism care and em phasizes on thought in the contemporary. His novel Ancient Boat, a work still thrilling so far, demonstrates the flower of thought which becomes more and more eye-catching after years of filtration. By observing the writer＇s reveal of evil humanity and his seeking for good humanity in the novel, internally, we can see he faces humanity and researches into the hardship of life, which concerns the living value and dignity and the salvation of soul; externally, we can feel his dual introspection on reality and history, which concerns the social change and the modern transformation of ideology and culture in China since the modern times.
